NUMC TO HOLD NARCAN OVERDOSE PREVENTION TRAINING ON SEPTEMBER 16, 2015 AT 7PM

East Meadow, NY………….Victor F. Politi, MD, FACP, FACEP, NuHealth/NUMC’s President/CEO, announces Narcan training to be held in conjunction with Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano and NC Legislature Presiding Officer Norma Gonsalves, at the Nassau University Medical Center on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 7PM in the Auditorium.

“The training can help save the life of a love one and participants at the seminar will learn how to recognize and prevent an overdose,” stated Dr. Politi. “Family members and friends of those who are abusing opioids need to learn what to do in case of an overdose and how to administer the life-saving overdose reversal agent called Naloxone or Narcan.” Narcan is the antidote to an opioid overdose and participants can obtain the free kit at the seminar.
