Myron Zitt, MD, Receives Outstanding Clinician Award at the Annual World Allergy Congress Meeting in Seoul, Korea

East Meadow, NY………..Myron Zitt, MD, attending physician in the department of medicine and director of the adult allergy practice at the Nassau University Medical Center, received the “Outstanding Clinician Award” at the World Allergy Congress (WAC) meeting in Seoul, Korea in October 2015. The WAC 2015 program offered a wide range of topics, from basic science to precision medicine for allergy and asthma.

From October 14 to 17, 2015 in Seoul, Korea, 2280 participants from 71 countries gathered for the XXIV World Allergy Congress, in collaboration with the Korean Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Clinical Immunology (KAAACI), and their mutually collaborating partner, the Asia Pacific Association of Pediatric Allergy, Respirology and Immunology (APAPARI).

Victor F. Politi, MD, FACP, FACEP, NuHealth/NUMC’s President/CEO, congratulated Dr. Zitt upon receiving such a prestigious award: “You are to be commended for being one of four physicians worldwide recognized by the World Allergy Congress for your outstanding performance in medical care and teaching, leading toward enhanced allergy care worldwide. Dr. Lanny Rosenwasser, President of the World Allergy Organization, said, “On behalf of WAO, I thank the 200 speakers who took the time to attend the Congress and deliver meaningful discussion throughout the program. It also highlighted unmet needs and future challenges in order to encourage advancements that will lead to improved patient care. This kind of information exchange is needed to help expand the knowledge and practice of allergy.”

Dr. Zitt has been serving the Long Island community for over 35 years as the chief of allergy and immunology of the Queens – Long Island Medical Group. He received his medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He completed a residency in Medicine at Long Island College Hospital and a fellowship in Allergy-Immunology and Chest Disease at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Allergy and Immunology.
Dr. Zitt is a Fellow of the American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology where he is Past President and has served on its Executive Committee, Board of Regents, and ACAAI Foundation. Dr. Zitt is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology where he is active in serving on the Public Education Committee.
Dr. Zitt is a Past President of the Long Island Allergy and Asthma Society. He has also served on the Editorial Board of the Annals of Allergy Asthma & Immunology and has published numerous scientific papers and abstracts on topics regarding asthma and allergy.
