DAVID FAGAN, MD, NUMC’S CHAIR OF PEDIATRICS TO BE HONORED BY THE CHILD CARE COUNCIL OF NASSAU AS A CHAMPION FOR CHILDREN

East Meadow, NY………..Victor F. Politi, MD, FACP, FACEP, NuHealth System/NUMC’s President/CEO, announces that the Child Care Council of Nassau, Inc. has selected David Fagan, MD, chair of pediatrics at NUMC, as one of the honorees at this year’s Community Champion for Children Symposium and Luncheon on April 30, 2015 at the Carltun.

“You are to be congratulated on this well-deserved recognition and we are proud of what it means for our pediatric patients. As an honoree of the Child Care Council of Nassau, you have demonstrated lasting contributions for our vulnerable pediatric patient population on Long Island in providing quality care to them,” stated Dr. Politi.

Child Care Council of Nassau, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit organization that has served the community since 1972. CCCN provides child care counseling and referrals to families, professional development and technical assistance to active and potential providers, and offers services to employers interested in the child care needs of employees and their families. Through research and support of child care friendly public policy and development, CCCN serves as an informational resource and public voice for issues facing Nassau County’s diverse communities. CCCN’s vision is for all families living and/or working in Nassau County to have access to quality child care and early learning that fosters successful growth and development for every child.

Dr. Fagan said: “To be recognized by the Child Care Council of Nassau is wonderful and I am grateful and humbled by the honor.”

Since January 2012, Dr. David Fagan has been the chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at Nassau University Medical Center. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the Hofstra University NS-LIJ School of Medicine. Dr. Fagan came to Nassau University Medical Center in July 2010 as the pediatric residency program director. Prior to coming to Nassau, Dr. Fagan served as the associate residency program director in the Department of Pediatrics at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, NY. There he was also the director of the pediatric faculty practice. He completed his pediatric residency training at the Babies and Children’s Hospital of NY, Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. Dr. Fagan attended medical school at SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine and received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University.
