NUHEALTH/NUMC BOARD CHAIRMAN HONORED AT UNITED HOSPITAL FUND EVENT FOR LEADERSHIP AND SERVICE
East Meadow, NY– May 13, 2015. Victor F. Politi, NuHealth/NUMC President/CEO, announces that Michael B. Mirotznik, Esq., Chairman of the NuHealth/NUMC Board of Directors received the United Hospital Fund Distinguished Trustee Award, presented to 27 trustees from hospitals throughout the greater New York region at a luncheon at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. The honorees were recognized for their leadership and extraordinary service to hospitals in New York City’s five boroughs, Long Island, the Hudson Valley, and close-by New Jersey.
This is the 25th year the Fund has presented Distinguished Trustee Awards. The trustees were nominated by their respective institutions, which include community hospitals, academic medical centers, and public hospitals. Among the award recipients are prominent leaders in business, law, public service, accounting, real estate, advertising, academia, and philanthropy.
“Congratulations to Michael Mirotznik on receiving the Distinguished Trustee Award from the United Hospital Fund. It is a well deserved recognition that attests to Mr. Mirotznik’s commitment to furthering the mission of our health care system,” said Dr. Politi.
Fund President Jim Tallon and luncheon co-chairmen Kenneth D. Gibbs and Steven Hochberg recognized the 27 Distinguished Trustees honored at the event, before a crowd of more than 600 colleagues, family, and friends.
“Today we celebrate the many hours of commitment, of hard work, and of leadership that trustees give so generously to their hospitals,” said Fund President Jim Tallon. “They bring to their institutions important community perspectives, valuable professional skills and insights, and deep loyalty and caring. We at the United Hospital Fund are privileged to have an opportunity, for the 25th time, to celebrate some of our region’s outstanding voluntary leaders.”
Mr. Mirotznik stated: “I am honored and humbled to have been recognized by the United Hospital Fund as one of the 27 Distinguished Hospital Trustees. I look forward to continuing our long tradition of providing quality care to Nassau’s vulnerable populations.”
