NUHEALTH/NUMC BOARD MEMBERS ZYSMAN AND KUMAR PARTICIPATE IN WORLD’S LARGEST INDIA DAY PARADE IN NYC
East Meadow, NY……….. Warren Zysman and Dr. Krishan Kumar, members of the Board of Directors of the NuHealth System/ NUMC, joined thousands of actors, celebrities, and governmental officials who came out to support the Indian community in celebrating the world’s largest “India Day Parade” in NYC. Billed as the biggest Indian parade outside of India, thousands of participants waved flags, danced and ate delicious Indian food on Sunday, August 16, 2015 in New York City.
Dr. Kumar who, in addition to being a NuHealth board member, is the President of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin NY (AAPI NY), indicated: “I am delighted to have joined my Indian friends and supporters as we celebrate India Independence Day, commemorating the day that India gained its independence from the British. It is the largest Indian parade in the world, other than the one taking place in India.”
The Bollywood leading man, Arjun Rampal, served as the Grand Marshal of the 35th India Day Parade, with the celebration taking place on Madison Avenue between 38th and 27th Streets.
Mr. Zysman, who attended the parade with his son Elliott, added: “It was exciting for us to see so many artists and dancers in colorful outfits, dance to Indian music and celebrate afterwards by eating sumptuous Indian dishes. My son and I were thrilled to share in the celebration of this happy occasion with so many friends, sports figures, celebrities and officials.”
